Sonor Music Editions proudly presents the definitive reissue of the often-overlooked soundtrack by Piero Piccioni for the bittersweet Italian comedy classic of 1969, Amore Mio Aiutami (Help Me, My Love), featuring two giants of Italian cinema, Monica Vitti and Alberto Sordi. This soundtrack is a perfect example of Piccioni's immense talent as a composer of timeless, richly orchestrated lounge music — a masterpiece of its time that rightfully deserves its place among his most treasured works from the same period, such as Colpo Rovente, Camille 2000, Appassionata, Il Dio Sotto La Pelle, and Travolti Da Un Insolito Destino Nell'Azzurro Mare D'Agosto (Swept Away by an Unusual Destiny in the Blue Sea of August). In recent years, it has found new life in the streaming era, being widely rediscovered and sampled within hip-hop and lo-fi communities. Maestro Piero Piccioni remains one of the brightest stars among Italian composers of the golden age of cinema, soundtracks, and library music. With a prolific career comprising over 300 film scores, Piccioni began his journey in the film world in Rome in the 1950s. At that time, he practiced law but quickly started composing for cinema, developing a particularly close working relationship with directors Francesco Rosi and Alberto Sordi. Among his vast body of work — including his collaborations with Sordi — Amore Mio Aiutami ranks at the top of Piccioni's oeuvre, showcasing his style of composition and production. The score effortlessly transitions from sophisticated bossa and lounge pieces like "Amanda Strain," "North Pole Penguin," and the versions of "Bossa Per Alberto" (the latter not included on the original KOLS 1007 release from RCA Records in 1969) — performed with a small jazz combo — to dreamy vocal pieces by Nora Orlandi and her choir, including "Miss Luna Special," "Luna Amore E.... No," and "Luna Non Sei Nessuna," featuring British actress and dancer Gloria Paul. The highlight, however, remains undoubtedly the pastoral main theme, where romantic strings intertwine with Piccioni's unmistakable sound and bittersweet melodies — forever linked to Italian films of Commedia all'italiana, of which Amore Mio Aiutami is a major example. This revitalized reissue of the Amore Mio Aiutami soundtrack by Piero Piccioni has been carefully remastered by Jonathan Dakers, cut to lacquer by Jukka Sarapää at Timmion Cutting, and packaged in a thick, uncoated cardboard sleeve with a fully restored cover. It also includes two bonus versions of "Bossa Per Alberto."
