The very prolific MATTHEW HOUCK, performing under the name PHOSPHORESCENT, returns with the excellent "Muchacho," almost three years after the album "Here's to Taking it Easy" which established him. A breakup, a sudden departure to Mexico, a guitar on Tulum beach, and "Muchacho" was born. It features the sober melancholy and minimalist sensuality of "Pride," with a hint of "Here's To Taking It Easy," eventually diving into more adventurous waters with electronic textures and rhythms. His unique voice is carried by classy arrangements that give his songs the grandeur they deserve.
