All Score is a German label that, since the early 2000s, has specialized in publishing Easy Listening music as well as film scores, TV series soundtracks, and advertising music. It features composers such as Peter Thomas (Bruce Lee - The Big Boss... among others), Martin Böttcher, as well as a number of works by Ennio Morricone, and radio works are also published. The seventh installment of our series dedicated to Peter Thomas is devoted to the music of the first and most famous German science fiction television series, RAUMPATROUILLE. Just in time for the 60th anniversary of this great seven-episode success (first broadcast: September 17, 1966), this legendary masterpiece of Peter Thomas's work, enriched with previously unreleased tracks, is being reissued on CD and vinyl. Rarely has the music of a television series exuded such charisma beyond the images as this soundtrack. The theme tune can now be unreservedly described as cult. The vocoder countdown at the beginning alone has been sampled countless times. From Pulp to Pizzicato Five, via Combustible Edison and DJ Spinna, the music of RAUMPATROUILLE has been covered, sampled, and remixed. Since 1966, many recordings have been published in various editions, but in collaboration with Philip, Peter Thomas's son, we have managed to add four previously unreleased tracks to the soundtrack, discovered in the composer's archives. This vinyl edition is inspired by the original 1966 Philips LP, supplemented by these four new tracks. This LP therefore contains only original music from the series, with the exception of one track which, although not included in the series, we did not dare leave out: "Bolero on the Moon Rocks," on which Pulp's hit "This is Hardcore" (1998) is based, and which has gained fame in its own right. In addition to the purist original music on the LP, the CD, with a duration of over 60 minutes, contains all the other original tracks and excerpts that have been added to the soundtrack over the years. Later added filler tracks have been omitted due to space constraints or lack of relevance.
