Unsent Letters is the strange cousin of the songs that make up half a lifetime of albums. It lived in the basement, in a box, and now emerges, blinking in the daylight. Despite its somewhat rough edges, it turns out to be rather charming and likeable. And with stories to tell.Pete Astor is a musician, author, and educator. He led the bands The Loft and The Weather Prophets on Creation Records, writing songs and releasing records that helped define the label's sound and the emerging indie genre. He has since had a long solo career: writing, recording, and releasing music on various labels, including Matador, Heavenly, Warp, EMI, and Fortuna Pop. He is a Senior Lecturer in Music at the University of Westminster. In addition to his extensive touring, he also records records with David Sheppard under the name Ellis Island Sound and releases his spoken electronic pop project under the name The Attendant with Ian Button (Go Kart Mozart, Death in Vegas) on his label Faux Lux.
