Description

Persian Rabbit originated from five musicians from different bands (Green Vaughan, Tang, Two Left Ears, and EdWood Jr.) who wanted to unite for a final artistic project. Together, they skillfully and confidently outlined their sonic cocoon. The virtues of experience and determination, no doubt. Formed two years ago, the "modern dark hippy" quintet creates an intimate world, with dark hues and cloudy optimism. Their chamber post-rock is bathed in a cinematic and solemn atmosphere made tangible by both the sound's texture and the "Persian rabbit's" unique visual identity. At once enigmatic, troubling, and telluric, the band's photographs and videos respond well to the original instrumentation (harmonium, double bass, cello, drums, guitar) and the intoxicating melancholy of their music. At the crossroads of Godspeed You!'s dizzying experimentations and Shannon Wright's folk eloquence, the quintet opts for oblique paths, carefully avoiding shortcuts (pieces exceeding 4 minutes are legion), yet confident that they will lead them to their destination.
