After an EP in 2017 and their first album Bowling in 2021, the trio PELOUSE, comprising Xavier Machault, Quentin Biardeau, and Martin Debisschop, returns with *découdre*. This ten-track album features drum machines, feverish saxophone, synths, and thick basslines dialoguing with sensitive lyrics, sometimes intimate or political, sometimes surreal or poetic. For this new opus, the band worked in a more focused musical universe, both wild and subtle, where electronic rock and contemporary chanson converse. The band continues to cultivate its unique sound, making it quite unclassifiable, somewhere between Dominique A and LCD Soundsystem, between Brigitte Fontaine and Morphine. Echoing our fractured and absurd world, skillfully employing the art of the unexpected, PELOUSE is not afraid to lead us into the depths. In both content and form, PELOUSE joyfully skirts the edges of reason.
