The repertoire signed by STEVE ALLEN (eleven out of twelve tracks) enabled the trumpeter to resume his career in 1969 following a terrible assault (fractured jaw, many broken teeth) in San Francisco in 1966. Unable to play, CHET BAKER experienced a dry spell before returning to the stage in 1973.
