Clearly, it seemed the riff was dead and buried in 2024… then this crippling brick-shit-house was thrown onto the back of the planet. Patrol cleverly combine the glam rock perfection of Sweet, the 80s heavy metal of Judas Priest and the searing melodicism of Thin Lizzy. But fear not you punks, the backbone of this record has a modern garage thump not unlike Liquids or Sick Thoughts to ensure toes tap at all levels. Maxime Smadja (Chateau Vergogne Studio/Rixe/Boss) has undoubtedly left his class mark on this EP, adding additional guitars and vocals as well as taking on all engineering duties, giving these songs the familiar analogue sizzle they deserve. This is the soundtrack to traversing the Pyrenees on a rat bike at dawn, belly full of amphetamine. Tune in and crank it to 11. B. Suddaby.
