« Music is for her a experience of the mind and body, a transcendence of each day. » (Gérard Pesson, composer) Pascale Berthelot develops her research work on piano and sound based on her interpretation of major works of classical and contemporary music, her encounters with numerous composers, artists from different disciplines, her readings, her experience of recording, and as she likes to specify, her everyday life. Her very open and adventurous repertoire draws over the years a sensitivity tinged with baroque eclecticism. In "Saison secrète," Gérard de Haro (Producer and sound engineer) asked her for an intimate and direct relationship with the great Steinway of La Buissonne. Without any score except as a guideline to think of nothing and let her sensitivity run free in this place charged with energies. This place that she has tamed for several years now during her recent recordings. She says: "I told myself that the intimate cannot be commanded and may suddenly arise one day, often in part and without warning. But rarely like this.
