There's an alchemy to this record, a cathartic power, a cohesion from start to finish, between each track, between music and lyrics. These lyrics, declaiming a fantasized shipwreck, that of bar-stool sailors lost in an intoxicated Paris, bewitch, play, resonate, and rebound. This kind of noise-rock / spoken-word / experimental pop... grooves and jostles in an equally fascinating, funny, and complex way. Sometimes I tell myself that this harsh treatment was simply a matter of the times. That they weren't ready. Indeed, when we first collaborated in 2013, releasing "Point," their subsequent album, it was much better received, despite embracing with even greater fervor all the strangeness that this "Traité" could emanate. But who knows, some missed appointments turn into late marriages.
