Hendrick Weber, aka Pantha Du Prince, has made a name for himself over the past decade by showcasing his minimalist creations outdoors and, conversely, by incorporating sounds of nature into his music. With 'The Conference Of Trees', a new stage project created last year in Hamburg, we find him leading an ensemble of percussion and instruments made from different types of wood, to establish a direct link with the forests that served as his sources of inspiration. While electronic music remains his basic medium, it is here put to the service of a pantheistic and poetic ode to natural elements, accompanied by a dazzling immersive scenography where all visual, costume, and sound arts are brought together for a good ecological cause. "Without forests, we would not exist as humans on this planet," reminds Weber.
