"I’ve always been disappointed that no one understood that our songs were love songs," says Eugene Robinson, OXBOW’s singer and lyricist, reflecting on the band’s career over the past 35 years. Love may not have been the most obvious muse on their earlier projects, but the subject has never been more apparent than on their eighth studio album and first new music in six years, “Love’s Holiday.” The band once again worked with Grammy-winning engineer and co-producer Joe Chiccarelli (White Stripes, My Morning Jacket). This is the third album the band has collaborated on, and the members all claim that their trust in him allowed the album to venture in even more tantalizing directions, with appearances by Roger Joseph Manning Jr. (Jellyfish) and Lingua Ignota.
