Home is not a fixed place. It is an evolving definition, starting in the safety of a womb and moving to the certainty of a parent's arms, extending to classrooms and friendships, then to the independence of adulthood. The idea of a "forever home" becomes less a question of permanence than of refuge. The place where masks fall. HOME is an album built on the unique chemistry between the members of Outer World, Kenneth Close (Positive No) and Tracy Wilson (Dahlia Seed, Ringfinger, Positive No), a technicolor love language that overlays synthesized sounds and samples with drums, guitar, bass, keyboards, and vocals. Two years after Who Does the Music Love?, Outer World has evolved from a duo to a six-member band. HOME sounds like the soundtrack of an imaginary spy film: high dramatic tension ending in rumpled sheets. No walls between genres: international grooves, Italian western composers, Hazlewood-style twang guitars, 60s spectropop beat girls, Lagos highlife, contemporary choral arrangements, Icelandic avant-garde, Bond villains, artifacts of early punk, Eastern philosophy, and art school from Athens GA in the 80s. It's all there, woven into a singular voice.
