In 2024, singer-songwriter Oum celebrates her fifteen years of career with a live album recorded in Marrakech, which dives back into the magic of her three flagship records, here revisited in a new light. This seventh album, titled Dakchi, which means "those things," is an opportunity for this bold trailblazer to allow herself a suspended moment, a temporary assessment, a return to her roots and branches. Dakchi is the first live best-of album, in which Oum brings together about ten tracks from her repertoire woven over three albums with identities as unique as they are infused with a common essence: Soul of Morocco, in 2013, Zarabi in 2015, and Daba in 2019. It expresses the typically Moroccan hybridizations – African, Berber, and Andalusian – that nourish Oum's fusions. It is also a joyful and natural fireworks display of polyrhythms that energize her songs: the playful, sunny, festive Marrakchi signature. Oum includes three new tracks, including the sublime Arabic cover of the iconic bolero Lagrimas Negras, Toda la Gente, an introduction to Mansit, written by Cuban musician Damian Nueva, and the delicate and sweet Intidhar, composed by Yacir Rami.
