Les variations d'ombre

Description

The author of a remarkable and acclaimed album in 2015, Orso Jesenska is a young man as mysterious as he is endearing, as simple as he is talented. For "Paroles" alone, the pinnacle of "Effacer La Mer" released by 03h50, we know writing hacks who would kill for it. He can perform it with just an acoustic guitar, without an amp or any effects. You fall silent and let yourself be swept away by the emotion. For "Les Variations d'Ombre," the Marseillais frees himself a little more from the obvious, from his influences. While sublimating them, as he delivers a version of Gianmaria Testa's "Seminatori de Grano," who passed away in 2016, and covers "Winter Moon," a classic written in 1957 by Hoagy Carmichael (an official member of the "Songwriters Hall of Fame" of American music). The four new songs were composed by the bearded poet, knowing that Mocke would contribute. Then Claire Vailler and Thomas Jean Henry joined to give breath to his compositions, adorned with delicate arrangements. Learned, orchestrated, yet clear, these new songs open doors to the future of a boy who could write one of the most beautiful chapters in French song.
