What will the rock of the future sound like? Perhaps the mixes will continue as social and environmental conditions deteriorate to the point where we'll be dancing to abstract alien sounds designed to compulsively trigger pleasure while blocking out other emotions because life will be too tragic! Who knows, but as long as we have new things like Oogbogo, the future can wait! This music was born from Kevin Boog, alone with a 4-track recorder, writing and recording to keep himself busy between Meatbodies tours. It was a good outlet for ideas that didn't fit anywhere else, and, naturally, materialized into a record, a strange catharsis. This is probably why it's such a fun, quirky record, changing pace, cutting and mixing new wave, funk, and glam into an acid-wash frenzy, forming a truly high-strung set of pop songs. The lyrics deal with dark subjects at times - such as the death of the ego, the condemnation of Earth by the human species - with a heavy dose of existential questions. The EP consists of four tracks and includes the participation of Mike Kriebel and Thomas Alvarez, members of the live band. If you're interested in the future of sound, or just want to travel, try Oogbogo!
