R plus seven

Description

Oneohtrix Point Never is the recording name of Brooklyn-based experimental musician Daniel Lopatin, who composes mainly on vintage synthesizers. Much in demand in recent years, Daniel Lopatin has created soundscapes at the Museum of Modern Art, collaborated with ambient electronic music composer Tim Hecker (Instrumental Tourist in 2012), and reworked the title track from his album Returnal with the mystical Antony Hegarty. He has also created an installation for the Cannes Film Festival at the request of Saatchi & Saatchi and composed an original score for Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring. On this new album, OPN’s experimental leanings are hidden behind the scenes - in the concepts and procedures he adopted to create the tracks - while the music itself comes closer than ever to traditional song structures. R Plus Seven is as unsettling as it is hypnotic, and the fun is in trusting Lopatin to guide us along - and often through - his succession of walls and mirrors. Tracklisting : 01. Boring Angel 02.
