Omar Sosa reunites with Seckou Keita for the continuation of their album Transparent Water released in 2017. When Cuban pianist Omar Sosa and Senegalese kora player Seckou Keita met in 2012, Seckou admired Omar for his musical spirituality, while Omar saw in Seckou a rare ability to collaborate without losing his identity. The album SUBA (dawn in Malinke) follows their first album together Transparent Water released in 2017. Written and recorded in 2020 during the lockdown, SUBA is an anthem of hope, of a new era of compassion and change in a post-pandemic world. The eleven tracks that make up SUBA are linked by themes woven throughout the recording. The songs speak of friendship and spiritual connection, of journey and loss, of hope and optimism... and, of course, of a new sunrise.
