Mirror Mirror is the new album by the legend of Finnish jazz, pianist-composer Olli Ahvenlahti. Supported by people like Gilles Peterson and Kenny Dope, Ahvenlahti is a master of hard jazz-funk grooves. Here, he continues the evolution of his beloved style since the mythical albums of the 1970s like The Poet and Visage. Ahvenlahti's new group features some of the best talents from the Finnish scene, including trumpeter Jukka Eskola, saxophonist Joonatan Rautio, bassist Ville Herrala, and drummer Jaska Lukkarinen.
Ahvenlahti's desire to continue in the lineage of his classic 70s period, while adding new layers and shades to his signature sound. This album is a continuation of the idea, the next step for the group that has proven itself in live performance spots.
