We Release JAZZ is delighted to announce the release of the limited vinyl edition of Suspended, the powerful new album by Obad, a striking testament to the ever-evolving sound world of this Tehran-based ensemble. This limited edition is now available on vinyl, presented in a thick sleeve with an obi and illustrated by an original work by Iranian painter Sadra Baniasadi. Suspended is a superbly spontaneous and improvised blend of exploratory jazz fusion, progressive funk-rock, and transcendental groove. Born from lived experience and shaped by the pulse of Tehran, Obad's music is dynamic and intuitive—a dialogue in perpetual transformation between rhythm and texture, emotion and message. With Farid Farzian Pour on drums, Siavash Karimi on electric guitar, Kiarash Radmehr on bass, and Hamidreza Keshavrpajuh (aka Pajuh) on tenor saxophone, Obad creates a sonic universe where hypnotic bass lines meet thunderous, fluid percussion; where incisive guitar patterns coil around saxophone phrases that shift from a whispered invocation to explosive catharsis. Suspended captures the quartet at the peak of its creativity: alive, spontaneous, and deeply in tune with one another. Sadra Baniasadi's striking cover artwork reflects the album's energy: bold, dreamlike, charged with movement, it extends Obad's universe into the visual realm.
