MERZBILD SCHWET

Description

Merzbild Schwet, the second opus released in 1980, is considered one of the major works of Nurse Wound, entering the famous "Silver Edition" at Rotorelief Records, featuring a luxurious chrome cover in a double Gatefold sleeve, and sumptuous 200g vinyl records. The first track, Futurismo, begins with clattering rhythms, skipping record clicks, and horn riffs before veering into a crazy patchwork of women singing, laughing, and speaking in French. About halfway through the track, wild screams of distortion disrupt the piece, then other bizarre sounds take over before the track ends with a collage of overmodulated electronic buzzes and disjointed piano. The other track, Dada X, goes even further into strangeness with numerous silences, eerie creaks, sounds that swell and collapse, and scattered lyrics in French and English by Eve Libertine from the political punk band Crass - the track certainly lives up to its Dada title.
