Following in the footsteps of albums by Derek Bailey, John Zorn, and George Lewis released on Celluloid Records, the label is releasing this enigmatic project as a limited edition, under the cryptic name nqthqn: aa in reverse. Recorded after Ghostbox Cowboy, released on December 31st by Chinese label Tailnia Records, this new album pushes further what critics have described as "the Zen death chant of the vulture band circling Harry Dean Stanton in Paris, Texas." Because, in the lineage of Arto Lindsay, Loren Connors, or John Fahey, nqthqn invents through improvisation what an abstract no-wave guitar music played around a campfire could be. aa in reverse was recorded and mixed by David Akerman (Robin Hitchcock, Dead Farmers) at Golden Retriever Studios in Marrickville (Parcels, Cate Le Bon, Courtney Barnett). nqthqn will be touring Japan, China, and Australia in April/May 2026.
