NOVA FELLOWSHIP, the quintet brought together at the initiative of producer Antoine Rajon for a creation at Nuits Sonores 2026, pays tribute to the collaboration between drummer Steve Reid and electronic producer Kieran Hebden (Four Tet). A major figure in Great Black Music, Steve Reid traversed free jazz, funk, and rock before signing, between 2006 and 2010, four visionary albums with Four Tet, an iconic trailblazer of electronic music. Following their first concert, praised by Kieran Hebden, the group records the album CONTINUUM in live sessions at Studio Pigalle in Paris, in the presence of Kieran Hebden, who was captivated by the group's first concert at Nuits Sonores. The repertoire revisits compositions by Steve Reid & The Master Brotherhood, by Four Tet, as well as Morning Prayer, an emblematic piece of the Reid/Hebden duo. Bringing together musicians with international backgrounds - Zach Morrow (drums), Tony Tixier and Rob Clearfield (keyboards), Hermon Mehari (trumpet) and Francesco Geminiani (saxophone, Nautilus flute) - NOVA FELLOWSHIP offers a contemporary, free, and spiritual reinterpretation of this legacy, at the crossroads of jazz, improvisation, and electronic music.
