Punk Goes Brass

Description

In the late 70s, an unprecedented shockwave swept through the self-righteous establishment of "perfidious Albion": Punk. A veritable Doc Martens kick into an ant-farm lulled to sleep by the oil crisis and the "flower power" of progressive rock. Genuine anthems, etched into collective memory, emerged from this ephemeral artistic surge. First initiated by The Ramones, the tidal wave orchestrated by Malcolm McLaren arrived in London with The Sex Pistols in 1975, closely followed by The Clash, The Jam, and UK Subs. France was not immune and also experienced the joys of enraged and engaged pogoing with Bérurier Noir and Washington Dead Cats in the 80s. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the cross-Channel movement, the 7 musicians of No Water Please, a curious, atypical, and multi-style brass band, decided to bring 12 essential international punk hits back to life. The album you hold in your hands brings together these legendary tracks, re-arranged by NWP. Listen loud, on repeat... pint in hand.
