Description

Each new album by NLF3 promises a cinema for the ear that abolishes any sense of déjà-vu, and Pink Renaissance is no exception, fulfilling its promises of a "new beginning." A record of synthesis, both literally and figuratively, where electronics intertwine with the organic. In one way or another, the trio (Nicolas Laureau, Fabrice Laureau, Mitch Pires) continues to explore new tropisms and expands (both in amplitude and altitude) without losing any of its formal rigor. While the EP Beast Me in 2011 saw them celebrating a Day of the Dead beneath the volcano, alternating shamanic doom-rock and carnival drum major, Pink Renaissance emerges from the darkness to return to the light. A true kaleidoscope that highlights electronics and creamy bass, the album opens with a shower of shooting stars: a melody rising into the air, the sharp strike of Mitch Pires' drums, and modular vibrations set the tone right from the start. A record of hope, calm, and liberation, where a touch of melancholy inherent to phases of transition still lingers, Pink Renaissance stands out in the darkened climate of the times.
