Little Girl Blue

Description

One of the most gifted and eclectic singers of her generation, Nina Simone (1933-2003) was also a pianist, songwriter, and civil rights activist. She bent genres to her will, and her music spanned classical, folk, gospel, blues, jazz, R&B, and pop styles. Recorded in 1957, *Little Girl Blue* was Simone’s debut album and showcases her voice and piano accompanied by bassist Jimmy Bond and drummer Albert “Tootie” Heath. It features her timeless classics “My Baby Just Cares for Me” and “I Loves You Porgy.”
