It was on the occasion of a double anniversary, that of his birth in October — GEORGES Brassens would have turned 100 in October 2021 — and the forty years since his passing in that same month, that the idea was born of inviting a young generation of singers: Clou, Nach, Clio, Corine, Nina Louise, Erza, Philippine, Anne Sila, Janie, Vanille to perform some of his songs. A deep respect for the melodies and a new orchestration of all the tracks in keeping with them. And finally, female voices each taking hold of this timeless repertoire in their own way. Over the years, few women have slipped into these melodies and lyrics; the time had come and the opportunity was perfect. As Brassens wrote: "to know a woman takes a lifetime." Let us bet that it will take less time to rediscover his works.
