"In the Service of France," the series, is the thrilling office life of the self-proclaimed best secret agents in the world in the early 60s (by the screenwriter of the OSS117 films).
"In the Service of France," the original music: "When I was offered to compose the original music for the series 'In the Service of France,' it was about paying tribute to the music of television series from the 60s, specifically those narrating the adventures of secret agents such as 'Mission Impossible.' How could I refuse? This proposal for original music was an opportunity for me to delightfully immerse myself in a certain form of film music that is no longer in vogue today.
Indeed, this type of music was often composed and recorded by jazz musicians who also had a solid classical training. For this mission, I called upon French musicians of that caliber. They shared, like me, the culture and love for legendary soundtracks.
After preparation and a lot of free improvisation, in the old-fashioned way, most of the music was recorded in a single day. I hope you will enjoy the result; it was conceived and recorded from the bottom of my heart and the enchanted realm of childhood." Nicolas Godin
