Skeleton Tree

Description

Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds’ sixteenth studio album, Skeleton Tree, will be released on September 9, 2016. It will follow the album Push the Sky Away (2013), which enjoyed great critical and commercial success, unprecedented in the career of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds in France. Skeleton Tree began its journey at the end of 2014 at Retreat Studios in Brighton, before further sessions took place at La Frette studio in France in the autumn of 2015. The album was mixed at AIR Studios in London in early 2016. The result is striking, fragile and raw. It is a sincere testimony of an artist trying to find his way through the darkness. The release of this album will be accompanied by the screening of a film for one day only on September 8. This exceptional feature film is titled One More Time With Feeling and was directed by Andrew Dominik (Chopper, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Killing Them Softly). Interwoven with the filmed performance of the new album by the Bad Seeds are interviews and footage shot by Dominik, accompanied by Cave’s intermittent narration and improvised ruminations.
