The albums "Dragonfly" and "Mangustao," fruits of this meeting, had met with nice commercial success. This new recording by Nguyên Lê sees the guitarist meeting another Vietnamese artist, Ngô H.ng Quang. Both have followed different paths but share the same goal: to express and share with the rest of the world the soul of Vietnam, blending roots and local futuristic music. Using traditional Vietnamese instruments while giving them a modern hue, Nguyên Lê & Ngô H.ng Quang have managed to create complex, colorful, and energetic music. It is difficult to know if their inspirations come from Jazz, Vietnamese music, blues, or African music, as the result seems to be a fusion of all of them. The soundscapes created by Nguyên Lê, a magnificent setting to highlight the two musicians, confirm his exceptional talent as an arranger and composer.
