The family group New Kingston, originally from Brooklyn, established itself in just three albums as one of the benchmarks of the American new roots wave, notably with the hit “Protect Me” in 2015. They return with a fourth album presented as a life story. A 10-track journey that retraces the memories of the Kingston Family. Although the concept is strong, the quality of each track is also there. It includes the singles “Come from Far”, “Honorable & The Beast”, “Starlight” in collaboration with Pressure Busspipe, and the anthem “Agape”. The excellent production, handled by their mentor Fabian Cooke, a Grammy Award winner, gives the album an energy and precision like never before in the New York group’s discography. A Kingston Story: Come from Far is a new experience in new roots and progressive reggae, establishing New Kingston as a band at the forefront of the current movement.
