Description

Written between Quebec, Casablanca and Marseille, in the studio but also while walking, dancing, mimicking birdsong, a cappella or accompanied only by a synthesizer, here is Fred Nevché’s new album: VALDEVAQUEROS. It is the name of a fine, endless sandy beach in Andalusia, bordered by the dunes along the “Costa de la Luz,” where the wind never stops blowing. In echo, Fred Nevché unfolds there, with his very distinctive timbre and through the course of his inner revolutions, an uncompromising love of life. Falsely melancholic, the songs on this record with their synthetic and minimal arrangements (Simon Henner / French 79, Martin Mey), erase the boundaries between song, poetry and long electronic stretches, and have the refreshing effect of summer storms.
