With their name taken from an episode of the radio show The Goon Show, Ned's Atomic Dustbin formed in Stourbridge, UK, in 1987. They are known for using two bassists in their lineup and creating a tense, highly driven sub-hardcore sound with a guitar loaded with distorted effects and energetic drumming. In 1992, they released their second studio album, Are You Normal?. The album contains their American hit song "Not Sleeping Around," which reached the top of Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart. The album was produced by Andy Wallace, best known for his work with Slayer, Prince, Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Paul McCartney, and so on.
