Number 3 Monkey: from Texas to Europe, blues comes alive with Neal Black The new album by Neal Black & The Healers, "Number 3 Monkey," includes 12 tracks, 10 of which are original compositions written by Neal Black. As usual, Neal pays tribute to the masters of blues with his interpretations of "Devil Got My Woman" by Skip James and "No Way to Get Along" by Robert Wilkins. Hailing from San Antonio, Texas, Neal Black's musical roots are undeniable on this album, while maintaining his unique sound signature in a blues rock style. This album is a fusion of high-voltage electric guitar solos and more delicate acoustic slide passages on the dobro, all enhanced by a raspy, gritty voice. "Number 3 Monkey" was recorded during the days off of Neal Black & The Healers' last European tour. Rather than doing nothing in hotels, they took advantage of this time to record in studios in France and Belgium. The musicians, "The Healers," form a true "Blues All-stars" lineup, including: Mike Lattrell on piano, Denis Palatin on drums, Abder Benachour on bass, as well as special guests: Nico Wayne Toussaint on harmonica, Janet Martin on acoustic guitar, and Flo Bauer on guitar.
