Released at a time when, for the general public, Nat King Cole was more a singer and comedian than a jazz pianist, this album recalls the incredible instrumental talents of this musician. The original "Penthouse Serenade," released in 1952, was a 10" LP that included the first four tracks on each side. It was reissued in 1955 with four tracks from a new quartet session on which Lee Young replaced Bunny Shawker on drums. This is the album configuration presented here.
