After twelve years away from recording, Naked Lunch returns with Lights And A Slight Taste Of Death, the new album by an Austrian band that made its mark on European alternative rock with records such as Songs For The Exhausted (2004) and This Atom Heart Of Ours (2007, Amadeus Award). Founded and led by Oliver Welter, songwriter and singer, the band continues to explore the human condition with music that combines depth, madness and sensitivity, while retaining the energy that made its reputation on stage. The record juxtaposes light and death “in small doses,” reflecting Welter’s introspective vision and artistic journey. Production was completed with Wolfgang Lehmann, while longtime companions Alex Jezdinsky (drums) and Boris Hauf (keyboards/saxophone) help enrich the arrangements and mixing, delivering an album in which the band, true to itself, boldly and intensely puts everything back on the line.
