Anglo-Lebanese musician Nadine Khouri sealed her fate in the early 2010s when she crossed paths with British producer John Parish (PJ Harvey, Eels, Sparklehorse…). Captivated by her vocal timbre, he recorded and produced her debut album ‘The Salted Air’ (2017). A timeless and unconventional opus, celebrated for its sensitive and hushed beauty. - - The recording of her second full-length album ‘Another Life’ (also produced by John Parish) was marked by the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and the emotional fallout from the two powerful explosions at Beirut's port in early August 2020. Inside the album sleeve, a photograph reveals, behind Nadine Khouri, the expanse of a sun-drenched Mediterranean city, Marseille, where the musician recently settled. A city of thousands of lives, thousands of memories, and thousands of stories, a stage upon which Nadine's journey resonates with joy, sadness, regret, exile, challenge, or desire. - - Once restrictions were lifted, Nadine Khouri and John Parish reconnected in the studio to finally record the album as initially planned, supported by various renowned musicians. From this period of uncertainty emerged compositions of stunning beauty. John Parish’s production lends a majestic breath to these impressionistic songs, and to Nadine Khouri's vocal tone, a suspended, stretched, and prodigiously introspective singing. Timeless and eternal.
