Broken Hearts & Beauty Sleep

Description

The mini-album by Mykki Blanco is finally available in physical format!
New York queer icon, extravagant, both man and woman, supporter of alternative hip-hop, conceptual artist, punk performer, and essential DJ of the electronic scene, Mykki Blanco is back with the physical release of his mini-album Broken Hearts & Beauty Sleep via Transgressive Records/[PIAS]. On this mini-album, Mykki Blanco pushes hip-hop to its limits by blending experimental elements with club, trap, jazz, and soul sounds, thus forging a unique subversive path within a genre historically mired in misogynistic, homophobic, and transphobic ideology. Inspired as much by Yoko Ono and Marcel Duchamp as by the provocative and trashy feminism of Peaches, Mykki Blanco embodies the contemporary world, breaking boundaries and raising awareness.
