For more than 20 years, Sharon den Adel has been the singer, songwriter, and figurehead of Within Temptation. The life of the band changed after their international breakthrough in 2002. Once the last tour (Hydra) was completed, the singer entered the studio to start writing again. A year and a half ago, the trigger happened. The song “My Indigo” became the cornerstone of her album, and all the pieces of the puzzle came together. “I finally felt that the emotions, the words, and the music fit together. It was there! It was the essence, the story I wanted to tell, but it had nothing to do with Within Temptation.” My Indigo has become a personal album. It gives its name to the first single. “I hope people will enjoy it, but this album evolves in a very different style. It sounds more alternative, a bit like indie pop.”
