And five! It's no small feat, five albums. The saying goes that a rock band gives its all in the early years of its life; that after three years at most, it's over – that's the cult of youth. However, Mustang has always been wary of youth culture – remember Pantalon, the first stunning single of mastery (melody, singing, writing, execution). "I have always insisted that my songs be songs of my age," adds Jean Felzine. Mustang made its recording debut in 2009. Here they are, entering their thirties. The band of a lifetime, then. Free from a pattern that has taken down many (studio-tour, studio-tour, each record sprinkled with a bit of the zeitgeist), these men remain simply driven by the faith, joy, and pride of writing good songs.
This fifth LP embraces openness and simply condenses a know-how, between the immediate classicism of the compositions and songs that won't age anytime soon. Sheltered from trends, Mustang holds its place. Apart, of course.
