Things Haven't Gone Well is Stephen Tanner's first solo full-length release under the alias Music Blues. The album was entirely written and recorded by Tanner, at the Harvey Milk singer's home in Georgia and at guitarist Creston Spier's Brooklyn apartment. Tanner continues to draw on the musical touchstones of Harvey Milk (Melvins, Gore, Earth, ZZ Top, Kiss, Judas Priest), while also moving forward into a strange unknown. Tanner's music is close to film music, with cinematic atmospheres that reveal the influence of John Carpenter and Ennio Morricone.
