Les 50 ans de Saravah

A legendary label, it celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2016...It is one of the oldest independent music labels whose successes in France, Japan, Quebec, and Brazil bring together aficionados thanks to the slogan invented by its founder Pierre Barouh "There are years when you don't feel like doing anything," a false praise of laziness for an overproductive man who wrote several standards that entered the collective unconscious: "Des ronds dans l'eau" for Françoise Hardy, "La bicyclette" for Yves Montand, "La plage" for Marie Laforêt, "Les uns et les autres" for Nicole Croisille... etc. Several artists of today have agreed to sing songs produced or edited by Saravah, signed by the label's major authors and composers such as Brigitte Fontaine, Jean-Roger Caussimon, Francis Lai, Areski Belkacem, Jacques Higelin, Chic, Streetman, Jack Treese and of course, Pierre Barouh. In duet or solo, each artist revisits this repertoire with the complicity of arranger and director Alain Cluzeau.
