Released in 1986 and awarded two Grammy Awards the following year, "Graceland" has left an indelible mark on the history of rock and pop culture. By allowing the meeting of musical genres as varied as rock, Zulu music, mbaqanga, and pop, Paul Simon brought the album "Graceland" into legend. With the project "Graceland - The Remixes," this iconic album, sold over 16 million copies worldwide, acquires a new status: the first major pop classic to be revisited and reinvented in its entirety. Produced by Michael Gaiman a.k.a. The Duke of New York, "Graceland - The Remixes" consists of twelve remixes created by the biggest names in the Deep House, Afro House, DnB, and Tech House scenes: Richy Ahmed, Paul Oakenfold, Groove Armada, and MK. By giving a voice to South African artists boycotted by apartheid, Paul Simon conceived "Graceland" in 1986 as an ode to World Music. In 2018, "Graceland - The Remixes" perpetuates this legacy by bringing together artists from all corners of the world and evolving on different musical stages, while keeping the spirit of the original album: a celebration of music in all its diversity.
