FRAGMENTS II - Lili Boulanger

Description

FRAGMENTS: the album project celebrating the music of yesterday and today by inviting some of today’s most innovative artists enters its second season by reworking the compositions of the renowned composer Lili Boulanger. Following the huge success of FRAGMENTS I, centered on the French composer Erik Satie, FRAGMENTS II now chooses to dive into the world of composer Lili Boulanger, who, despite her short life, was strongly influenced by the social, societal, and artistic world and inspired the art scene as well as future artists and musicians. FRAGMENTS: Lili Boulanger aims to highlight not a woman who composes, but a composer who is a woman, and to show the world her work as well as the role her pieces can play in a modern setting. The result is a distinctive sound world characterized by each artist’s unique musical journey as an individual and as a collective, showing their admiration for Lili Boulanger and translating the past into their own current sonic atmosphere.
