It was important to examine what the performer brought to the mix rather than reproducing an exact copy of what was originally recorded by Marc. Where AHH opted for the most obvious choices and brought in many renowned artists, the final result was not necessarily the best in our opinion. Here, we find very good innovative interpretations... the music is essential and that is what matters, not the fame of the artists or the success of the single they covered. Furthermore, it is important to note that all proceeds from this album will help Gloria dig a well so that the children and people at the Marc Bolan School of Music & Film can obtain something so precious to them, something we take for granted: fresh, clean water! All contributors are professional artists (we did not simply ask our friends to sing Marc's songs). They come from France, Italy, Australia, Germany, Belarus, the United States, and of course, the United Kingdom. We also avoided asking artists signed to major record labels because those labels would not allow us to give all the money to the charity, and there are NO live recordings. The album cover, like that of the Beltane album, was drawn by artist Tina Weatherby, a Marc fan.
