We say "Brel" and everything seems to be said. The wounds, the tears, the burning voice, the fire of performance. And also the existential hangover, the biting satire, the white suns, the darkness of ink. And still the fever, the sweat, the lyricism. Jacques Brel passed away on October 9, 1978; he would have turned 90 on April 8. A procession of artists, "Ces gens-là" of today, resonate with the wounds and tightrope images of the timeless repertoire of the most famous Francophone singer-songwriter internationally. "Ces Gens-là" is a project aimed at a multi-generational, international audience, featuring Thomas Dutronc, Melody Gardot, Oxmo Puccino, Bernard Lavilliers, Carla Bruni, among others. Indeed, 13 singers from here and elsewhere have come together to celebrate the anniversary of the birth of "Grand Jacques," a tribute orchestrated by Larry Klein - producer, director, multi-instrumentalist, - awarded 4 Grammy awards, who has dedicated himself to each voice. He is the one who signs the production and arrangements of this album with a human touch.
