Mr Yéyé is a child of the 2.0 generation, resourceful, curious, inventive, ultra-connected, and charting his own future. There's obviously something uninhibited about this young man, who began his journey in Brittany. Clever but not sly. Driven but not belligerent. He also has a taste for risk-taking. Above all, Mr Yéyé holds dearly to his freedom and independence.
He created his YouTube channel (now with 40,000 subscribers) to trickle out his songs, which he then compiles into "seasons" on a record.
Mr Yéyé thrives on audacity. He communicates excessively via social media. Gradually, his fan club grew. Without any promotion, other than his Facebook page or his channel, he managed to sell 2,500 copies of his first album, *Cabaret noir*.
Then one evening, returning from a concert, Mr Yéyé kept repeating the colorful phrase "On s'en bat les couilles" (a vulgar French expression meaning "we don't give a damn"). Just for fun, he turned it into a repetitive and obsessive refrain. It was an instant buzz online (nearly 4 million views today). Even *Quotidien*, Yann Barthès' show, gave significant visibility to this completely offbeat track, which was light-years away from his artistic identity.
In the meantime, Mr Yéyé had time to mature his hybrid rock, forged with well-digested influences (Muse, Shaka Ponk, Linkin Park, In Flames, Rammstein...), and to bring other creative forces into his project by forming a close-knit band. *Hybride*, Mr Yéyé's second album, was mixed by Frédéric Duquesne, guitarist for Mass Hysteria. He draws inspiration from rock, electro, nu-metal, and reggae. Mr Yéyé constructs a soundscape where almost candid brutality and raw tenderness coexist. Under the guise of a palpable urgency and a theme revolving around self-affirmation, he crafts a unique music that, despite its power, never forgets to be melodically catchy. Mastery of the catchy chorus, bleeding riffs, sonic explosions—all in French.
