Mr Grandin returns in 2015 with a new album titled “The Shadow Of Plastic Tree”. After the release of his acclaimed album “The Electric Horseman and the Dancing Movie” in 2013 on the Banzaï Lab label, Mr Grandin is preparing to offer us a new opus that is at once dark, cinematic and powerful. This new album, produced by the TFTC Records label, is composed like a tale straight out of the imagination of a big child, on which Nell Mess once again lays her sublime and reassuring voice, and Emily K, violinist, adds her orchestral and enchanting touch. Inspired by these two accomplices with whom he finds the perfect alchemy, Mr Grandin takes us into a dark, fantastical and mysterious forest, a sonic tale where fantastical characters, in the image of those imagined by Ayao Miyazaki, come to populate the listener’s mind. To accompany us on this journey, Mr Grandin collaborated for the occasion with rapper Otchakowski, with whom he had already worked on his last album, as well as Mattic, a talented American rapper well known to the general public thanks to his many collaborations with WaxTailor. Each in turn helps pave the way for this strange ride, bringing a Hip-Hop touch, energetic and even offbeat, to everyone’s great delight. Original, unique and varied, “The Shadow Of Plastic Tree” is undoubtedly Monsieur Grandin’s most accomplished album, taking the listener to Wonderland, playing with styles and moods, and armed with sharper beats and heavier bass than on his previous releases. For “The Shadow Of Plastic Tree”, Mr Grandin dons the costume of a magician for a mystical adventure masterfully controlled from start to finish.
