Founded in 2004, the group Moussu T e lei Jovents was formed around Moussu T (Tatou) with the collaboration of two renowned musicians: Blu, the accomplished guitarist from the group Massilia Sound System, and Jam Da Silva, a Brazilian percussionist. Together, they aim to create a dialogue between tradition and modernity, local and universal. A desire for otherness and confrontation is reflected in the composition of the group Moussu T e lei Jovents, where it is significant that the founder of Massilia Sound System works alongside the youngest and latest member, and where the songs of Marseille and La Ciotat are supported by the drums of Northeast Brazil. Otherness and confrontation, for Moussu T e lei Jovents, remain the necessary passage to embrace reality, so that in response to the commercial globalization of the planet, the free and fraternal dialogue of peoples can emerge. After six albums of their own compositions and two records dedicated to the repertoire of Marseille operetta songs, Moussu T e lei Jovents has become an essential group in the French musical landscape and stands as an undisputed figure of Occitan song. Beyond inspiration, Moussu T e lei Jovents has managed to create its own style that blends song and Mediterranean blues. Today recognized worldwide, Moussu T e lei Jovents represents Marseille music.
