Centralia

Description

After Air Museum (2011) and Choral (2009), Centralia is Mountains’ 3rd album to be released on Thrill Jockey. For this album, the duo Koen Holtkamp and Brendon Anderegg wrote and recorded at their own pace, in order to offer a focused, precise album, yet one without limits. Rather than electronically reworking acoustic sounds, they preferred to create electronic sounds through their acoustic instruments (guitar, cello, organs, electric pianos), combined with synths and other sound sources. Mostly recorded at Telescope Recording studios in Brooklyn, two tracks, Propeller and Liana, are also taken from live performance and reworked. The LP version includes an MP3 coupon, and the CD format is presented in a mini-LP gatefold sleeve. A European tour is planned for the spring.
